Well, Pringles may be nothing more than dehydrated potato flakes and
various stabilizers that for some, long ago ceased to resemble an
actual potato, but let's face it they're just plain fun to eat! The
chips are uniform in shape, compact in size so they're perfect for
packing in lunches and although they're crunchy, they're also lacking
in any dangerous chip shards that can slice the roof of your mouth.
Actually, Pringles are designed to be exactly the right shape to
conform to the interior shape of the mouth and tongue. Plus the
Pringles can stands out on the grocery store shelf amongst an army of potato chip bags and as an added
bonus, it makes that cool popping sound upon opening.
Pringles has many varieties to choose from when you're searching for a
crispy snack. I recently taste-tested a new variety called Pringles
Smart Flavors, which advertises a reduced fat content. I tried out the
savory cheddar, and I must admit to being pleasantly surprised. I tend
to be a purist when it comes to potato chips and more often than not
a kettle chip is the only way to go for me, but I'm not ashamed to say
the light dusting of cheddar flavor and the delicate crispy texture of
the chip left me running back to the kitchen cupboard for another
taste. The flavor was not overly salty as some chips can be, and that dainty
crunch is simply irresistible. I won't eat them all the time as
they're a little overly-processed for my dietary preference, but as an
occasional, inexpensive treat in the lunchbox I'll definitely give it
a go!
